System Overview

Elasta-Gard SP Aliphatic is a urethane coating system for use over single-ply roofing membranes such as TPO, PVC, EPDM, and others. The system incorporates a 70620-CA aromatic urethane base coat with a 7490-CA aliphatic urethane topcoat for a seamless membrane. Elasta-Gard SP is intended for long-term protection over existing single-ply substrates; it is not intended for use over a ballasted single-ply membrane. It is ideal for institutional, commercial, industrial, and high-rise/multi-family residential applications.

Neogard -CA urethane roof coatings form a seamless membrane for superior durability, flexibility, color retention and long-term protection. They comply with South Coast AQMD VOC regulations. They are typically rolled, but can also be sprayed (contact Neogard for information on spray equipment). Our 7490-CA aliphatic topcoat has high UV resistance, and is less likely to chalk than an aromatic coating. It and our 70620-CA base coat also have high tensile strength and chemical resistance, which prevents failure due to expansion and contraction of the system, and failures around critical areas like penetrations and flashing.

Is a moisture analysis required prior to the installation of Elasta-Gard SP Aliphatic?

A moisture analysis is not required, but is highly recommended prior to the start of work.

Are seam details required for the Elasta-Gard SP Aliphatic system?

Seam details are not required for Elasta-Gard SP Aliphatic. However, seams do need to be inspected, and any defective seam should be detailed with 70690 urethane mastic.

Are Neogard urethane roofing products single component or plural?

All Neogard roofing urethanes are single component products. Some of the recommended primers may be two component.

What warranties are available for Elasta-Gard SP Aliphatic?

We offer Material Only and Labor/Material Warranties for 10 and 15 year terms.

Do you have to be an approved applicator to install Neogard warranted systems?

You do not have to be an approved applicator to purchase material and receive a Material Warranty. You must be a Certified Applicator to receive a Labor/Material Warranty.
